Finally, finally I am emotionally invested in Duma Key around page 350. Suddenly I reached page 438, but to my dismay, I realized that page 439 was actually page 407!!! WTF? so, the book goes from 438 to 407, all the way back up to 438. The next page was, uh, 471!! I'm missing over 30 pages. aaaargh.

Can i just take this book back? Is this some rare book that may be worth something? Or could Stephen King please send me a signed copy of Duma Key ;)

thanks.

By the way, I met Tom Atkins (Creepshow, Halloween 3, The Fog) from Night of the Creeps at the Alamo Drafthouse in Austin for a q & A with the cast of Night of the Creeps. He was such a cool guy! Me, on the other hand, was not so cool. I don't usually dork out about people, but......

You should be able to return it for a replacement copy at the retailer where you purchased it.

I would probably keep the messed up copy for possible future value. But, hey, that's just me.

I think "messed up" books only have value when it's a particular print run, a first edition, and especially when there is a mistake in it caused by an author/editor oversight that is then corrected in later editions. What you've described is a simple binding error. In my opinion, take it back and get a new copy - you don't want to miss any of this wonderful story!
