Duma key was awsome. Does anyone know how long it took Mr King to write it?

The dates are listed in the chapter called How to Draw a Picture (XII). He began writing it in February 2006 and the final edits were completed in June 2007. What Steve considered his true "first draft" was finished in May 2007 but that was after having done some editing once the book had been completed.
