Yeah, I do lots of thinking in the shower, LOL! I also never get to take my shower until I'm done writing for the day, it's sort of my reward. Lately I've been goofing off, thinking and trying to plan how to go about my last part more than working. (Somebody, slap me!!) I was sort of thinking of this message board and all the movies that have been made out of Stephen King books and all that, and wishing they could make the Dark Tower into a movie, yet knowing that it was impossible. They made The Lord of the Rings into movies but that was only three books and was still quite an undertaking.

Then I thought, why couldn't they make a series out of it? Not a mini-series either, a real TV show. I never watch TV but that's something I would watch if it was done right. It could last several seasons and as they moved forward from book to book they could also flash back to Roland's training as it does sometimes in the books themselves. I thought it would be killaaaah!! (<--killer in Mass speak, hehe) Start out the season with the first book and move through each book to the end. The flash backs could make it last even longer. What do you guys think of that? Am I crazy? Well, I know I'm crazy, but what do ya think of my idea?

I blast music when I'm in the shower. Sure, I do a lot of thinking there too. And like you, it's a reward to me as well. Ooooooo I just love being immersed in water. Especially hot water, I love it when the temps go past scalding hot, because I'll tweak and tweak and tweak it getting it just under dangerously hot.

Your idea sounds pretty good. Kinda like 'Lost', right? Just moving forward, but moving forward in segments...

Might be interesting. I'd at least give it a watch and DVR workout, which is something I don't do for much in syndication.

JJ Abrams, the guy who does Lost, has been handed this. I don't know much more about it, except that he wants to finish Lost, and he has taken on some other things since being bestowed DT.

Have you ever thought of writing in the shower?
The only way to do justice to the DT, is with a series.

Have you ever thought of writing in the shower?

Just make sure you have water proof paper. :smile2:

But seriously, showers are a great place for deep thought.
I hate it though when the shower scene from "Psycho" creeps into my head.
Do you have any idea how hard it is to shampoo with your eyes open?

they should do it like an HBO show, that way the dont have to really censor what what written...Eddie's got a mouth that just cant be handled by basic cable...and all the blood and violence...but if it was a show...itd be such a long ass show...

still better than a movie...or even several movies...

I always tried to read in the shower as a child and spoiled many a good literary masterpieces doing it... :biggrin2: Always looked like such a waste of reading time.

And a TB series... I'm not sure. TV series usually tend to be lower in budget and therefore lower on effect, and the DT series includes some pretty expensive scenes.

I'm pretty sure that the only way to do The Dark Tower is in a t.v series. As a massive Lost fan, I love the idea of J.J doing it, I trust that that guy could pull it off. It would definatley have to be on HBO though, because I think if they censor it at all, both language and violence wise, it just wouldn't be the same. I also love the fact that if its on t.v we're not going to end up with an already mega famous actor to play our heroes and take the attention away from the story. Stephen HAS to be involved in the creative process aswell. Even though I trust J.J (even after the horrible Mission Impossible 3), I just cant imagine Dark Tower working without input from Stephen.
