I have been a Stephen King fan ever since reading Misery at 13- my ass hanging off the edge of the bed, turning each page with as much excitmenet as fear - on what I might read next.
I have come across On Writing about two years ago and only was able to read through some of it as it was a passing aquaintence's (it was 'the toolbox' that I got a look at, which at the time had me disheartened as my writing was severely blocked) but have always known it was a book I needed to read, when ready. I just recieved it as a wedding gift and against my best efforts to read it slowly, and savour it, I am almost finished. I cannot express what an amazing gift this was, both as a wedding gift and from Mr King himself - to all of us.
When I got the the telepathic connection with the author, I had to put the book down and gasp, squeel a little even, I felt it Stephen!
You are my ****ing idol. The best author this generation has produced, I don't give a **** what the critics say, jealousy is a bitch.
Forever grateful fan,
L
