To me this story is really about the ancient forces of nature, those Gods of Growth and Fertility that our ancestors used to worship, and it also echos in Wolves of the Calla.
And I also have to admit that since reading the stories I stopped jogging through the corn fields near my parents' home. Unless, of course, I feel like running very fast. :biggrin2:
