I recently "discovered" a short story by SK called The Tale of Gray Dick. It appeared in McSweeney's Treasury of Thrilling Tales edited by Michael Chabon. It's a Dark Tower story and I haven't seen it mentioned around here.
I have yet to embark on the epic journey to the Dark Tower, so don't want to read this yet until I'm sure of where in the canon it lies. Has anyone here read it? Is it safe to read on its own or should I read the other Dark Tower novels first.
Anyway, you can find a little taster of the story here (http://www.mcsweeneys.net/quarterly/tenteasers/sking.html).
