Hi All,
Well, in a previous post here on the boards I stated that I wanted to thank Mr. King with something besides just buying his books. So I wrote and dedicated a short story to him that will be in my first book of short stories.
The short story is a free download in PDF format on my website. If you would like to read this free story all you have to do is send me a Private Message and I will send you the link to the download page where the story is located.
I want to say thank you in advance for any taking the time to read the story. It means more than I can ever say!
A Huge thank you goes to Ms Mod for corresponding with me and letting this happen.
Best,
Bal

Hi,

Balrog (AKA John Preston) provides a thrilling and masterful horror tale in The Guest. Combining masterful description and a neutral voice, it packs one hell of a scare-punch. Definitely for anybody who loves Stephen King, but mostly for fans of H.P. Lovecraft.

Long days and pleasant nights

To anyone and everyone-do yourself a favor and get the link from Bal. It is a GREAT story and I can't wait for the book.

The story itself, had a "Mist" quality to it. I only wish I had a player to download the audio version of it. Ah, well. I printed it out so I can read it as many times and even pass it on to my friends.

Enjoy!

Yeah, anealgesangel a very big suit and a HUGE can of that raid....maybe even a back up can just in case!

Just a note, I got a few PM's this weekend asking if it was too late to receive that short story and the answer is, no. The story is still available and it will be available for a long long time to anyone who would like to read it. :smile2:

I am debating writing a sequel to it since I have had great responses to it here on the boards, and for that I want to say thank you to each and everyone who has requested it and commented on it!

So if anyone still wants the link all you have to do send me a PM and I will be more than happy to direct you to it!

Best,
Bal

Hey guys and gals:smile2:.
I read this story last week and it was indeed fabulous, I would highly recommend it to everyone. I honestly can't wait to purchase the book as the whole synopsis for it sounds very tempting...definitely my cup of tea, and I'm sure many other constant readers here would feel the same.

I don't want to give anything about the Guest away but all I will say is the part with Grandma Lynn's teeth is guaranteed to bring a chuckle...ooh and the 'guest' himself is worthy of any novel Uncle Steve could create!

Seriously folks, I'd give it a shot...even if it's just for the fact it's free, not very often you get anything for free these days...enjoy, i'm sure you all will:wink2:.

Thanks Rose for the kind comments, and it was my pleasure sharing it with you, but it is all of you really, who took the time to read it that deserves the thank you's. It truly does mean more than I could ever say!

On another side note, I am still getting PM's asking if the story is still available for free? The answer is still yes, I made a post a few days ago stating this, and I will say again it is and will be available for free for a long long time. All you have to do is just ask! :smile2:

I do want to take the time again and thank Ms Mod for letting this happen. I only hope Mr. King knows what a true gem he has for a worker.
Best,
Bal

OMG!! Just finished reading this and I cannot recommend it strong enough!! Was not what I expected (in a good way). For those that suggested a big can of Raid, I was thinking more like a blow torch and can of hairspray to make some fireballs. So glad I was not eating at the time I read this.
To you, Balrog: Great story and I will be going over to Amazon to check out getting this collection. BUT, since I am moving to a new house later this month, I will be checking every crack in the walls first and any noises I hear late at night will result in a phone call to you. BTW, can I have your phone number, may be putting it to good use. If you receive any late night hang up calls, or just the sound of a woman screaming and cursing, that will be me. Look forward to reading more of your work.:y::y:
