My grandmother's creamed chicken is to both live and die for. If I told you the recipe, I'd have to kill ya...
(Really, I'll put it in this thread when I find it...)

It always comes down to a double cheese burger, a large order of fries, and a vanilla milk shake. Other than ham and cheese sandwiches, that's been my mainstay since I was a eleven years old.

Take an onion and dice it. Saute it in a deep pot in some veggie oil. Add a tablespoon of paprika (the sweet kind). Stir. When the onions are almost done, add the chicken pieces and stir. Fry for about ten minutes or so until parts start to cook, turning the pieces over often. Almost cover it with water, and simmer until chicken is done. Add some salt to taste.
In a bowl, mix a couple of cups of sour cream (not the light kind) with a couple of heaping tablespoons of flour until smooth. Stir it into the mess in the pot until it's combined really well. Turn the heat down and cook for another five or ten minutes until it is hot again. It makes the best gravy.
Serve over mashed spuds or moli (kind of a johnny cake corn bread thing).

That’s a tough one. It’s hard to choose from so many excellent meals, but I’d say the best meal I ever had was the filet I had at the Ruth’s Criss Steakhouse. Best steak I ever had.

I love home made potatoe salad with steak. But since I hate to cook meat (it's..icky) I usually make chickpea-stew instead. Dice an onion, let it fry a little, add canned baby tomatoes, oregano, garlic, and chick peas. Let it cook for a couple of minutes, then add some feta cheese and stir, so it gets a little melted.
Yummy!

Slow smoked brisket and smoked sausage and Wal Mart brand 'original style' tater salad and a big glass of iced tea (with crushed ice). Just make sure you takes yer Lipitor first.
Or anything at Waffle House after a long night of playing "get messed up after last call with the strippers"! Oh, to be 20 again......

I made this over the weekend as an "appetizer," and it was a big hit. It's super easy, hearty and delicious, and it's sort of like a nacho dish, only more.
Ingredients:
Salsa
Cream cheese (REAL, not low fat)
Ground beef/turkey burger
Vegetables (lettuce, tomato, onion)
Salt/pepper
Blue corn tortilla chips
Shredded mozzarella cheese
1. Combine the jar of salsa and a package of real cream cheese. Stir together until well mixed, and refrigerate to chill.
2. Chop up lettuce, tomatoes, red onions (any veggies you like), combine in a large bowl, and refrigerate.
3. In a medium saucepan, cook up some ground beef/meat (turkey burger is what I use).
4. When the burger is cooked, generously sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese over the burger and cover so the cheese melts and gets all gooey.
NOW to layer your ingredients for the finished product!
5. In a baking pan (like a brownie pan), or a glass serving dish, spread the salsa/cream cheese mix along the bottom (1st layer).
6. Sprinkle the veggie mix on top of the salsa/cream cheese layer.
7. Carefully spoon out / cover the veggie layer with the cooked burger topped with melted cheese.
8. Put the chips in a bowl and scoop, scoop, scoop away! YUM!

Umm....for me I would have to say any form of Greek food, delicious.
Especially Kleftiko or Stifado, both Lamb meat dishes! Alongside a nice Greek salad, followed by something nice and sweet such as Baklava....and all washed down with some nice retsina and ouzo, heaven.
Oh I really need to make something Greek tomorrow now:cool2:.

The two best meals I ever ate...
Nobu; the omikaze, which means that you let the Chef make dishes for you and get surprised. They ask about allergies and dislikes and then bring 6 courses. OMG we had some of the best food EVER! Pricey but worth it once every..oh, 15 years ;)
The other was at this exclusive place in Seattle called The Ruins. It's a membership only place but Hubby got a $100 certificate for Employee of the Year. So we dressed up and went to this place that looks like a warehouse on the outside and had the most amazing meal! Heirloom tomato salad, fresh organic beef with wild mushrooms, this amazing chocolate mousse cake.... Well, we will never eat there again but for one night we had an idea what it's like to be one of the rich and catered to.
As for some of my recipes... here are two recent "diaries" I did on cooking with herbs:

Change that milk shake to a Coke with gravelly ice, and I'm in perfect agreement.

Hmmm this thread is making me hungry and I just had a bowl of cereal.
The meal that would be perfect for me right now would a basket of battered and deepfried frog legs... hell even if they were just grilled and buttered I would eat them. I love those things, and if no one else has ever tried frog legs I seriously recommend it.
However, I think what would go perfect on a nice warm summer evening like this one would be a couple beer brats cooked on the grill... with a couple of Budweisers. Well maybe I'll skimp alittle and get some Labatt Blue's.

CatNoel pretty much nailed it for me.
I'm a cook (imagine that, something else), so I'd drop the peas and rice in #1, sub for mild black beans with a thick dice of Vidalia onions, and hope the plantains were thick cut chips flash fried in peanut oil.
For #4, I'd want a mix of collard and mustard greens with a healthy splash of apple cider vinegar at the end of cooking, and I'd probably go for cornbread instead of the pie.
Other than that, it sounds like Heaven.
God have mercy on those sleeping around me that night.

Oohh:eek2:...I'm pretty scared of frogs, so don't know if I could actually eat one. I always thought I would be willing to try anything once, but I just don't know if I could try this...wow.

Steak with Stilton sauce! Ohhhh mama! I love it!
Tried it at a local restaurant and adored it and now can make the sauce myself to perfection. I cook it about every 2 to 3 weeks so as we don't overindulge and sicken ourselves of it.
Gorgeous!
