I ran across this this weekend, and I've been making these out of scrapbook paper. They're pretty fun, and easy to personalize. I know how we all love bookmarks in here, so I thought I'd post the site in case anyone else is interested. http://nbowersfamily.blogspot.com/2008/08/corner-bookmark-tutorial.html
I've also seen them made from the corners of envelopes.
I'm a bad, bad dog-ear person, so the bookmarks I can have laying around, the better!
I'm going to make a bunch and stash them away to put in Christmas cards...

I love these. Such simple things, but very pretty. I'm a bookmark girl anyway, so, these are just great! THanks

I love keeping old stationary sheets, you know where you only have a sheet left. I keep them all in a box. These will now be transformed into corner bookmarks and sent as stocking stuffers for friends and family. I even have friends and family that was sad when I stopped using certain stationary, I will be sure to make their bookmark out of their favorite stationary. Thanks so much:smile2:

This is a really good idea. I never dogear, but if I don't have a bookmark around, I always have to find my place when I start reading again.

I'm glad you all liked it, I thought it was pretty sweet!
I didn't make the ones in the picture, mine still need a little more "WOW!" to be that pretty. That was just the link with the best instructions I could find :)

This is an origami corner bookmark, that I actually like better than the one I linked to earlier. It doesn't require any glue, and there's not so much waste. I just start with 3 or 4" squares and off I go! I made a ton of them to sell at a bake sale recently (yeah, I don't bake, sorry) and they were quick and easy and I got to recycle a ton of rescued National Geographics! (First we read them, then I use the full-page photos to make envelopes, and the smaller photos to make these, that way there's not much of the magazine left.)
I actually tuck that last flap in too, when I make mine, instead of leaving one side a square. I'm sure it's fine if you're using a more substantial paper, or a paper where both sides are pretty, but mine was neither. It becomes a triangle that way, but works the same :)

I love this little bookmark. Anybody else have any cool craft projects they do?

I should make more of these, I've lost them all!
I've been working on a yo-yo quilt lately. Each little yo-yo is quick and easy (and portable!) Unfortunately, they're goofy looking because each yo-yo is a little puckered circle, and my children have dubbed it "The A$$hole Quilt." I'm so proud.

You can see how they're made here. The puckering comes in around 3:40. It's a lot of fun, and it goes pretty quickly, compared to knitting...

I agree, so clever!
But alas I have no craftiness, I'm proud when I tie my shoes and they stay tied at least till lunch.

I've got a yo-yo quilt in progress. It's quite pretty, but takes a long time to get enough of them. Needless to say, I think I started this project around 1993 (not kidding.)
