looking for misery

Hello everyone, I thought someone here might be able to help with my quest. I am looking for a specific copy of Misery. A friend said she had it once, loaned it out and never saw it again. I would like to find this for her as a gift. She said it was made to look like a romance novel, like the Misery novels from the story. This is all the information I have. Any help would be greatly appreciated, especially the ISBN. Thanks!

Sorry, I don't have the ISBN handy, but you're looking for the original paperback version which had this extra inside cover.

I'm pretty sure that was intentional on the part of the artist. :smile2:

Thank you Ms. Mod! I had seen that picture but didn't think it was a copy of Misery because of the title. I had no idea there was a book with two covers. This will make it much easier to find. You're welcome AmandaRose and when I find the ISBN, I will let you know.

That's right, there was an outside cover and the pic I put above was an interior "cover". There used to be a copy in the office, but I'm not able to find it or I would give you a better description as well as the ISBN. According to one reference source I have, it's a Signet paperback, ISBN 0-451-15355-3 but without the book, I can't guarantee that info.

I actually have the false cover, but not the novel that it originally came with. I keep that false cover inside my first edition hardback.

I remember buying the paperback and reading almost all the way through it. Then my sister picked it up and pointed out who the guy on the interior cover was! I wasn't too interested in the romance novel type picture. I just wanted to read the story.
Very cute though!

I have a well-enjoyed copy loaned out. If I get it back I'll figure out a cool way to distribute it here.

As I posted before:
"Misery" with the inside cover (The Stephen-as-Fabio).
I tracked my well-loved but intact copy down. My Dad has it. I said, "Dad, hold onto that book." He said "OK, it's right here in my bookcase. And how was your weekend?"
I don't collect anything (except in my head...where else can you best store anything of worth to yourself?).
Who wants this book for free (I'll even post it, freebie, inside CONUS), and to whom and how do I decide to give it away? Maybe even King will sign it before it gets there. I don't look into that stuff. I certainly don't want to make extra work for anyone unless there's some charitable benefit involved.
If the book is only worth its weight in pulp, someone let me know. If that's the case, maybe King will sign it to help up the ante?

I love this. I had the book, too but loaned it out and never got it back. Hey Amanda, they sell framed prints of this (in poster size) at cafe press! I've wanted one for so long, but kept putting off buying one. Maybe I'll get myself a little present.

I don't know if you are still looking for this book but I have a copy of it. It is in pretty good condition. I would be willing to let you have it since it didn't cost me a dime. I got it from a friend. I am replacing all my paperback with hard back. The only cost I may charge is if what I have to possible pay to get it to you.
I am not sure how we would set this up without giving personal information neither may be willing to share.
Just let me know what you want to do.

Hmmm, reckon why SK didn't use that for the office screen saver reward??? There might have been a regular stampede to get in the office! HA! (that DOES favor his image remarkably though!)

We would have had to get permission from Penguin to use that one. :smile2:
