neato, needed purpose and now i have it. just finished the cadence of grass, that one is worth a re-read if only to figure out what he heck was happening at various times, weird ending there, worth the effort prolly. It. works for me.

Hi,

Sorry Robert, I don't know how to post links, being but a bear of very little brain myself, but to find the group, click on 'Community' above, then 'Social Groups' and join the group called The Calvins and the IT group (http://www.stephenking.com/forums/group.php?do=discuss&discussionid=167) is a subgroup of that.

Could someone who knows how to post links please post a link to it from this thread please, I think quite a number of folken will be into re-reading IT personally?

Long days and pleasant nights.

Amazing book. I remember I wasn't able to put it down.

Might revisit it....

Hi,

I'm reminded of the closing lines in a poem I read many years ago about someone throwing tomatoes at an irritating politician (wish I could remember/find the rest of the poem, it was excellent!) -

Tomatoes are soft and don't hurt the skin
But these ones were specially packed in a tin

Long days and pleasant nights

Tomatoes are soft and don't hurt the skin
But these ones were specially packed in a tin
They are squishy & moldy & have been rotting for moons
we have saved them for people who are reading Dean Koonz!

Koontz has some great moments. I enjoyed his last Dog book. Not a dog of a book but it involved golden retrievers. "Darkest Night of the Year" or something like that.

'The Stinky Cheese Man' scenario from "The Face" will rattle around in my brain forever.

And following the dogged theme, for non-horror fiction, I also recommend "The Art of Racing in the Rain." Read it before it ends up on Oprah's Book Club.

While I dig the idea of discussion/reading groups, I finished "It" again recently, so I'm no go.

The checkout girl at my local grocery store was reading "It" a few months ago...I noticed the cover tucked away from the conveyor belt, and could see where a page-saving crease was.

When she asked me (they never look at you) if I had a bonus card, I did not answer.

Eventually she met my eyes, and I simply said (cheerily) "Down here we all float," and handed her my bonus card thingy.

Her eyes flared, and she giggled nervously. I'd wager that she also soiled herself just a little.

Any other book groups start up, let me know.

Sincerely,
BJS

Hi,

Not to worry, Booger, the great thing about (most) of the re-reading groups is that they're open ended and you can join in at anytime when you've finished DK.

I was in the opposite position, having already decided on IT before the DK group (time specific) opened, so I had to decline the kind invitation, and anyway I re-read DK very recently.

Enjoy DK (you will!), so much better the second time around IMO.

Long days and pleasant nights
