Alright, as many of you know- I am an avid songwriter and musician and have loved recording and rocking out! A lot of you have listened to my super rough demos before and I greatly appreciate that.

I just wanted to let you know that once I get back to school after spring break (hoping my guitar player gets the hum in his amp fixed)- we will be headed back into the studio hardcore and resume recording some songs. I have written a couple of songs since coming back from Winter Break- and have musical riffs that I need to write lyrics for during my current break.

The sounds are fresher, and the guitar is more rocking- and I can't wait for you all to hear some of these new things. We're going to amp up our sound a little more- hopefully making for a more rock sound- versus our current softer rock sound.

Our current project has a working title, and I can't wait to resume work on it. We haven't been able to lay down any guitar parts for months because my guitar player's amp has had a hum whenever we plug anything into the output slot. Meaning in essence that we can rock out live, but we can't record anything (there probably are ways to navigate around this- but the way I know, and I feel works best has been halted). So anyway, hopefully my guitar player will take care of business and get that worked on.

Hopefully we'll be around 75% finished by the time school ends, and then we'll do a couple of sessions over the summer and get it finished for purchase.

In addition, my guitar player (Kevin) and I will be going to Mobile with one of our friends this summer- and we are looking into playing a show or so at some local places since our friend lives in Mobile!!!

Anyway, I know this is a bit random, but I know that several of you have followed my music over the years, and I thought I would share this exciting news. I am insanely musically and lyrically inspired these days, and have recently gotten back into "Stevie/Mac" mode really strongly (I know you all know what I'm talking about)- so things are great!!!!

Hope everyone is doing well, and Happy Weekend,
Ethan

Hi,

Good luck, and I hope it all goes well for you.

The amp problem sounds like an earth induction problem to me, and I'd advise a good repairman has a look at it. DON'T try it yourself, a valve amplifier can carry a lethal voltage (in thousands of volts!) even when unplugged and switched off.

A short term solution, and one I prefer anyway, would be to mike the amp instead of using the D.I., preferably using something like a Shure SM57 mike.

But have it checked out by a professional ASAP IMO! It's almost certainly something easily and cheaply repaired but it's the kind of fault that can lead to electrocution when you touch a mike stand and killed a very good friend of mine, Les Harvey.

Long days and pleasant nights

Thanks for the advice John.

Yeah, during our spring break this week, my friend says he'll finally get the thing looked at. I'm being insistent- months is long enough and plus- we're ready to head back into the studio.

You All Have A Wonderful Week!!

Had to delete the link you posted because of the no self-promotion rule.

Thanks guys, I am not really pursuing my music insanely seriously, it is more of a hobby- my "real" career goal is to become a collegiate choir director.

That being said, if I was able to make some money with my own music, that'd be GREAT!!!

Feel free to check out my website!:biggrin2:

Oh and by the way- this weekend= recording session!!!

Again, thanks to all of you all for the wishes!

My friend and I finished a new song this past weekend, and it's on our website, so if you're interested in checking it out, let me know!! I would love feedback!!:smile2:

Much Love,
Ethan
