Has to be "The Magician's Birthday" from Uriah Heep in the early 70's, a time when cover art was at its most imaginative. The contrasting red and blue of the picture was a head trip.

I've always had my favorites. A couple of years ago I decided to root through the one's I had and create a collage of some of them. It turned out awesome and I love my "album wall". If I could figure out how to attach a picture I would. If you're like me and you can't bring yourself to throw out some of your old "gems", you may want to try it.

Does anyone remember Kansas from the 70's? Point of Know Return, Leftoverture, Monolith, etc. Covers were works of art! Early Styx as well. Loved Grand Illusion! The music and the album cover were very ethereal. I was actually sad to see vinyl go because of the great covers, CD size never did them justice.
Sorry, I don't know how to put the pics on here

Tough to rate my favorite but, all of the YES album covers were cool, Boston Had some cool album covers back in the day, as did Queen, Moody Blues, Judas Priest, Ahhhhh the hell with it, There are just too many I can't pick.
PS. I wish I was cool enough to post some of them, but I guess I've not yet reached that level!

There are a few artist still being released on vinyl. My favorite is Hank Williams III. His last 2 are just awesome. They are Straight To Hell & Damn Right/Rebel Proud. As far as the music goes the better one is Straight To Hell, but Damn Right/Rebel Proud has the better cover. Also Straight to Hell was the first country album to have the parental advisery lable on it.
