How about the George Foreman approach--name all the boys George and the girls Georgia. As sleep deprived as the parents are going to be for a while, it might cut down on the stress by not having to remember names. :smile2:

Yay! A woman has successfully had a batch of puppies!

I couldn't imagine this. I haven't had any children, but I plan on pouring everything I have into the children I will have some day. I couldn't imagine not being special to my mother, because she had eight (or fifteen or twenty two if it was her second or third batch) babies. I mean, I guess, if you were trying to raise a clan or something.

But I was the youngest, so I got to be the baby. That way I never had to feel that I wasn't extra special.

George Washington had like, what was it, twelve, or was it eighteen, brothers and sisters? He turned out just fine. I suppose it could happen.

I just see that this world is littered with children already, and honestly, there is no drive to actually become more intelligent and above those around you, other than for playing the 'financial gain' game. Hell, I don't even batch puppies myself, because I have no way to know if those puppies I sold off would get beaten or not get their shots or might have other health issues, and I wouldn't be happy with the act of creating life, if I wasn't sure it would be the strongest and be given the chance to be the most wonderful it could ever be. Quality, not quantity please. Unless of course you're absolutely amazing and a natural at it, and all your children grow up making amazing music and become masters of their fields. Then I suppose we'll be successfully fighting back the whole just, blandly dealing with existence as most generic wal-mart consumers tend to.

Who knows, maybe my idea of a perfect world is much different from those types. Anyways, I was glad to hear that all eight babies were healthy. =o)

Anyone who read the 18 kids thread knows what opinion is going to be, but this is 100x worse.

Because yeah, Being a single mom with 6 children on fertilitiy drugs to have more with no husband is a GREAT idea.

I really wish I had control over where my tax money went :(

I just heard on the news the other day that she is being offered all these books deals & public appearance offerings..Perhaps she can move out of the mother's home now..Mind you she was artificially inseminated..GEESH 6 was just not enough children..I have a friend that would like to have just one...

I read that she was doing in vitro. How could she afford that? That's pretty pricey in itself, even before you have to deal with any kid expenses.

I have infertility issues, and there is no way we could afford it, even when we were both working and had great insurance.

Hmmm.

As for the names, maybe she should not name them now, then give them names later as their personalities become known? Sort of a Native American approach. Like, one could be "Slept-Through-the-Night-First" and another could be "Princess-Uses-Potty" and another one (like my son) could be "No-Crib-Can-Hold-Him." You know, just a thought.

It's not fertility drugs in her case; she had IVF. So at least eight embryos were implanted (unless there was some spontaneous twinning, which I doubt). It's unusual to transplant that many; I think usually it's two or three. I can't imagine why anyone would think it was a good idea to transplant eight. :oo:

Sick, sad and unnecessary. Why wouldn't you take charge of your life and care for the 6 children you already have? What about college? Can you really believe that you can afford to send them for a higher education? Not to mention what they will need in everyday life. Food, shelter, clothes etc. I feel so very sad for these children. She should not have done what she did. Yes I think it is just for the money. She expected all of the big companies to come to her aid as they have for other multiples. But they are not coming to her aid because she did this on purpose. Obama sending her money is sickening, she should not get more money from the government than anyone else. There has been much discussion on this board about the Duggers, are they getting a million too? They have 18. I am sorry for the rant, but this just pisses me off to no end. :glare::bat:

I totally agree. She's divorced, unemployed, and lives with her mom, now having 14 kids under the age of 8. She's collected over $165,000.00 in 'disability' payments from a supposed back injury. Although said back injury hasn't stopped her from getting herself pregnant.

And makes me wonder, not only how did she pay the doctor to implant that many embryos, why would the doctor have done it?

I feel sorry for those kids.

For me, it's that she already had six kids and no job, when the 8 came along. Really even one more would have just added to the strain she and the kids are under. I can't wrap my head around what possessed her to do IVF again when she was already in a dire situation financially and time wise with the six at home.
