I didn't actually cry but I felt like it when the stray dog was killed near the end of Gerald's Game. That poor dog went from being a pampered family pet to starving in the woods to being shot. (I didn't hold it responsible for nibbling on Gerald-- after all, it was dying from hunger!!)
The end of the regulators which I finished today nearly had me crying like a baby. I mean now I really really want to read desperation which I'm about to start! Also I re-read the shawshank redemption and I also had to try hard to hold in the tears in the end when he talks about what happened after he got out of prison.
I just finished THE GIRL WHO LOVED TOM GORDON and that made me cry at the end. HEARTS IN ATLANTIS (the movie was such a disappointment) made me weep like one bereaved.
I cried at end of DTVII at the end when Suze meets alternate version of Eddie and Jake at the Central Park zoo. It was very intense.
11/22/63 had me bawl like a baby at the end.
every time I read The Last Rung on the Ladder I cry like a baby. There is a line, I can only paraphrase, about cancelled out postage looking like accusations on the envelope.
the end of Insomnia, and of course, when Oy died........just finished 11-22-63, it had me weepy for about 5 minutes after the final page......
...now that I'm a few years older than I was when I first started reading Sai King's stories and am now reading them with a more mature perspective, almost every single book by him I've read recently has made me tear up at some point or another - especially Desperation, BOB, and 1922. Those stories really didn't affect me at all the first time around.
Ah, the power of a re-read.
