It took me a little longer than usual to finish this book because I did struggle with reading parts of it. I think we all knew Jesse was going to make out of this alive, but what kept me going was how she would escape. And I wasn't disappointed. The scene as she sliced up her wrist was incredibly gruesome but definitely brought me back into the book. It got me thinking if I would ever have the strength to do something like that to survive. The stranger was also definitely scary but I honestly didn't feel he was an actual threat for some reason. I also really couldn't picture how he looked. The closest I could think of was Slenderman with a face (or maybe I'm reading too much creepy-pastas) For some reason he also really captured my attention and I couldn't help feeling sorry for him. Some scenes really kept you on edge and I really wanted to scream at Jessie to hurry up and get going before she collapsed and bled out. Overall, it wasn't the best SK that I've read, but it was still worth reading.
