“Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.” from the good doctor.

and too, if you carry a big bat, they won't mind at all.

A man is known by the company he avoids.

Always imitate the behavior of the winners when you lose.

Bad habits are like a comfortable bed, easy to get into, but hard to get out of.

Be alert to give service. What counts a great deal in life is what we do for others.

Better to get up late and be wide awake than to get up early and be asleep all day.

Bite off more than you can chew, then chew it. Plan more than you can do, then do it.

    By courage I repel adversity.

Concern should drive us into action and not into depression.

Contentment is not the fulfillment of what you want, but the realization of how much you already have.

Discretion is the better part of valor.

You can always get the truth from an American statesman after he has turned seventy, or given up all hope of the Presidency.
    - Wendell Phillips

In Chinese, the word for crisis is weiji, composed of the character wei, which means danger, and ji, which means opportunity.
    - Jan Wong

A woman must be a genius to create a good husband.
    - Honore de Balzac

I am never long, even in the society of her I love, without yearning for the company of my lamp and my library.
    - Lord Byron

The U.S. Constitution doesn't guarantee happiness, only the pursuit of it. Your have to catch up with it yourself.
    - Benjamin Franklin

Literature is a power to be possessed, not a body of objects to be studied.
    - Anonymous

Egotism: the art of seeing in yourself what others cannot see.
    - George Higgins

The worst sin towards our fellow creatures is not to hate them, but to be indifferent to them; that's the essence of inhumanity.
    - George Bernard Shaw

One man's word is no man's word; we should quietly hear both sides.
    - Goethe

Don't let yourself forget what it's like to be sixteen.

    Efficiency is intelligent laziness.

God helps those who help themselves.

Going to church doesn't make you a Christian any more than standing in a garage makes you a car.

Good friends are hard to find, harder to leave, and impossible to forget.

If for a tranquil mind you seek,
    These things observe with care:
Of whom you speak, to whom you speak,
And how, and when and where.

If you enjoy the fruit, pluck not the flower.

If you hear that everybody is buying a certain stock, ask who is selling.

If you really do put a small value upon yourself, rest assured that the world will not raise your price.

It is light grief that can take counsel.

How about some Ozzy Osbourne quotes?

Being sober on a bus is, like, totally different than being drunk on a bus.

Viagra`s a great sleeping drug. I take Viagra, and Sharon goes right to sleep.

Could be worse . . . I could be Sting.

I got rabies shots for biting the head off a bat but that`s OK - the bat had to get Ozzy shots.

One of my greatest regrets is that I urinated on the Alamo.

She said, 'I understand you're quite the wild one'. I just went, 'Heh, heh, heh'.

Liberals are very broadminded: they are always willing to give careful consideration to both sides of the same side.

Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.

May no portent of evil be attached to the words I say.

No man deserves punishment for his thoughts.

Nobody knows the age of the human race, but everybody agrees that it is old enough to know better.

The best defense against the atom bomb is not to be there when it goes off.

There are no thanks for a kindness which has been delayed.

Time is that quality of nature which keeps events from happening all at once. Lately it doesn't seem to be working.

To harken to evil conversation is the road to wickedness. (Pravis Assuescere Sermonibus Est Via Ad Rem Ipsam)

    Tom Robbins quotes:

There are two kinds of people in this world : those who believe there are two kinds of people in this world and those who are smart enough to know better. (Still Life with Woodpecker)

Birth and death were easy. It was life that was hard. (Jitterbug Perfume)

Disbelief in magic can force a poor soul into believing in government and business.

Humanity has advanced, when it has advanced, not because it has been sober, responsible and cautious, but because it has been playful, rebellious, and immature. (Still Life with Woodpecker)

It's never too late to have a happy childhood. (Still Life with Woodpecker)

Time for some silly quotes. Some Monty Python, perhaps?

"Please! This is supposed to be a happy occasion. Let's not bicker and argue over who killed who." - King of Swamp Castle

"What makes you think she's a witch?" - Sir Bedevere
"Well, she turned me into a newt!" - Peasant
    "A newt?" - Sir Bedevere
"[meekly after a long pause] ... I got better." - Peasant
"Burn her anyway!" - The crowd shouts

"Are you suggesting coconuts migrate?" - Soldier with keen interest in birds

"Ah, I see you have the machine that goes ping." - Hospital Administrator

Jacob's first one reminded me of the quote from Dr. Strangelove when George C Scott was fighting with someone and Peter Sellers says:

"Gentlemen, you can't fight in here, this is the war room"
