A couple I've picked up from recent reading...

If anything happens, it must not be my fault - Meaning that if something bad should happen it won't be because of something I did or did not do.

What cannot be altered must be endured - Conversely, what cannot be endured must be altered.

    Don’t leave spontaneity to chance.

You have to keep moving, and go do what you do. Because you can . . .

The treasure of a life is a measure of love and respect/The way you live, the gifts that you give/In the fullness of time/It's the only return that you expect

    Hi,

I've always heard that one as -

'What can't be cured must be endured', which is a line from the old traditional Irish song 'Love is teasing'.

Under the Dome; Play That Dead Band Song, chapter 2. The whole chapter as one quote. (Described as the Corgi Horace sees things.) As far as I'm concerned this chapter is perfect. Like being baptized in all the right words.

    A couple of my favourites:

"I want you to know, novice, that absurdity is very much needed on this earth of ours. Indeed, the whole universe is founded on absurdity, and, perhaps, without absurdity there would be nothing at all."
    -The Brothers Karamazov

“Poor Faulkner. Does he really think big emotions come from big words? He thinks I don't know the ten-dollar words. I know them all right. But there are older and simpler and better words, and those are the ones I use.”
    - Ernest Hemingway

"Sometimes remembering will lead to a story, which makes it forever. That's what stories are for. Stories are for joining the past to the future. Stories are for those later hours in the night when you can't remember how you got from where you were to where you are. Stories are for eternity, and when memory is erased, when there is nothing to remember except the story."
-The Things They Carried, Tim O'brien
