As a HUGE Stephen King fan, when I read one of his books; I READ his books, taking in all the details and itty bitty nuggets. When I find any errors or 'oops' in his stories; its like finding a little prize. Kinda like the thrill I get from finding little cross connections in his books. Never mentioned as a knock to his awesomeness, or to make myself feel superior...instead it's like finding a ring or a penny while taking a walk. I'll take my thrills where I can get em! LOL
Get out of your cave. It drives me barmy when people pick nits over silly details. Very well put.
I think it's the same groups of people I would hate to go see a sci-fi or horror movie with that just can't resist the temptation to let you know how unrealistic the movie is......Really? We're at the movies, this isn't real life.....geeeezzzz, just enjoy the movie or book.........maybe I'm just old......"Back in my day we walked to school uphill both ways"........muttering...muttering.
I also seen mentioned on the board from time to time, and I have to agree, that sometimes the world that Sai King writes about is not ours, so any of the errors that are errors here in our world may not be errors in others.
Hey Ghost - I thought that was a good first post (as far as starting a thread goes). In the 1990s I worked as the military admin clerk for the MPs (Military Police) in Edmonton Alberta. They were affectionately called "meatheads". So I think it is just because you are in law enforcement that somehow someone might have suggested you are not too bright?
Judging from your posts there is absolutely nothing wrong with your "little grey cells" so don't be shy. Hang out here and post away cuz I think we would all like to hear more from you
Oh yah - and Giant - I think Morgan might have been referring to passing something else (like um, I dunno - gas?) (it's those high fiber cookies!) I'm making a big batch of oatmeal raisin today - I'll send you a dozen!
