Finished it. Enjoyed it on the whole but think I'll like it better second time around. I loved the first part of the book: I was swept along by the catch-up on Dan Torrance's life and his later work as 'Dr Sleep', the various escapades as Abra grows up, and the general creepiness of the True Knot. But once the story came up to date and moved on to the narrative that brought it to a conclusion, I found it less interesting.
I have a query though - right at the end, where Dan has gone to the hospice to see the other orderly (the nasty one, can't remember his name!!), they converse mentally. Did I miss the fact that this guy had a bit of Shining about him or is it just what Dan does with his 'patients' at the end?
