Yeah, I can see him being mouthy to people- he definately has an attitude and a chip on his shoulder and I'm sure it was worse back when he was in school and poor. But, if there's anyone in the world that I could have their musical talent, it would be this guy! I think he is one of the best, if not THE best, guitar players around and he doesn't get enough credit for that, because his persona is too big. I'm not one for listening to someone play riffs on guitars (I'm more of a keyboard kinda guy!), but give Prince a six string acoustic guitar and you would be amazed at what he can do with it! He's written some of the best songs ever, but his sexual persona overshadows that and prevents alot of people from 'hearing' his music. I'm just glad that he's grown up over the years (unlike Madonna) and doesn't try to use the 'I'm still sexy!' thing anymore.
I prefer him in his Purple Rain look or Lovesexy or 3121 style! Really loved him when he performed Gett Off on the MTV awards and wore that yellow outfit with the butt cut out! When he turned around halfway thru the song, and showed what God gave him to the world, it was a serious 'Miley Cyrus twerking' moment for sure! So scandalous back then!!
OK, not sure how my newbie thread go turned into a Prince butt worship thread but I'm disgusted by picture you put in my head.
Welcome! It's a great board. People actually talk "to" you around here and not "at" you.
I love Prince, I really do - I cannot sit still when I hear "I Wanna Be Your Lover" or "I Would Die 4 U" - he was very revolutionary in the 80s - still rockin 30 years later.
Have you seen him in the 'Sign Of The Times' movie? Man, he had so-o much energy back then, he was a non-stop dynamo on stage back then- dancing, running all over the stage, playing the piano, playing the guitar, doing those splits! Those splits messed up his hips, so now he can still command the stage and a packed arena, he just can't run around doing those splits like he used to! I've seen him numerous times in concert, starting with the Purple Rain days, in an arena setting and in a smaller venue more intimate setting, and he can really put on a show. Everyone needs to see him in concert at least once in their life!
