Hey everyone! I've been a Stephen King fan ever since I was just 13 years old, I am now 30. Up until earlier this year, I had read every single one of his works, EXCEPT the Dark Tower series. I don't know why? Maybe because I've never been into sci-fi or fantasy...I'm sure that's part of it. But after starting the series, I also think the Dark Tower is something that's too hard to explain outside of adjectives like "epic" and "amazing", etc, hearing about it never did it much justice.
I just finished Wizard and Glass, and that book affected me in a way none of his books really have. Some people say that romance isn't really King's strong suit, but I disagree. I think he captured young love in that aching, painful way that so many other authors can't. Some people also say they don't really care for this book because it's all flashback, but I think at this point in the series, after getting to know Roland, imagining him as a young man in love made the whole reading experience that much more heart-wrenching, I really felt like my guts were being torn apart at some points.
Anyway, I'm someone who reads all the time, and even still, it's been so long that a book series or a single book has made me feel this level of obsession and care for the characters inside. It moved me to join this message board community, after almost 2 decades of reading and loving Stephen King.
I'm looking forward to talking books with everyone here, I hope we can be friends
