At the suggestion of one of our dear MBers I purchased a Galaxy Tab 10 recently. I had originally wanted a hand held computer but soon discovered I could hook up to Kindle and read using the tab. Downloaded Swan Song by McCammon because I could not find a paper copy anywhere! I really enjoyed the experience but then the library called and I had two books waiting. While reading those two books last weekend I reveled in the scent of the books, the physical page turning, and the fingering my favorite book mark made of soft persian rug material. With nothing from the library left to read, I downloaded The Resurrectionist by Matthew Guinn. I am now really torn between these two methods of reading.
How do y'all read nowadays with so many avenues? My DIL reads books on her I-phone!
I have a Kindle and I like it a lot. But I still read most of my books in real form. I hardly ever buy a book though because I get most from the library. (I'm sorry ) When I do buy a book I think I'm about evenly split between Kindle and paper. I love reading whatever the form.
I have a kindle, it's almost 3 years old. I use it enough that I do believe it is starting to wear out. Sometimes when I turn the page everything goes black and I need to turn it off and then on again. I love that it is so light and easy to read in any old comfortable position, and I love the light that allows me to read if I can't sleep or if I'm not ready to turn in the same time hubby is. It did take me a little while at first to not "be aware" that I was reading on it, but now I can lose myself in a story just as easily on the kindle as a real book.
I still buy real books, and borrow real books from the library as well, though. For me, I love both mediums, and I wouldn't give either of them up willingly.
