After having read the Talisman, and now Black House, Im starting to consider doing a Dark Tower re-read at some point. It took about 6 months for me to read the 7 DT novels, but now, it may take longer as I have a bit of a busier schedule right now. In you guys experience, for those who have done a re-read, did it take significantly less time the second time around? I have so many books I already wanna read, that I hate to re-read 7 books that I already have. Maybe I could just re-read DT VII? Not sure what I wanna do though!
Have taken the "re-read" journey many times. If this is your first re-read, you may be very surprised-- so many details that are missed in first reading. Ah-Ha moments as you see things fall into place. Foreshadowing beyond belief. IMHO it is well worth a re read of all 7 books. They are the journey- enjoy.
To answer if the re read took less time-- I have to smile. I read the books as published, so yes- the re- read took less time. Did not need to wait years between books.
I agree with everything Spidey just said (the part about reading the books as published made me laugh - that's they way I read them) and would like to add this...REREAD!!!! You will not regret it. With every reread, you find something you missed or maybe just forgot...
Having taken the journey with Roland and the rest numerous times, all I can say is READ IT AGAIN! You will be surprised at how many things were there that you missed the first time. I always find something new with each re-read. You come to truly appreciate what King did with the entire sreies and especially the ending. Enjoy!
i only finished the DT series about three weeks ago, and i'm already considering a re-read (mainly because i can't seem to focus on any new reading material!) but i think i will save it for the winter--here in london, the winters are bleak and grey and the occasional trip to mid-world may do me good to get out for a while (especially spent on the shores of the western sea in "the drawing of the three")
