Brad Furman Tagged to Direct James Patterson's 'Private' TV Series

LOS ANGELES (TheWrap.com) - "Lincoln Lawyer" director Brad Furman will direct the pilot of "Private," a series based on James Patterson's series of the same name.
The two-part pillot, executive produced by Jane Rosenthal and Robert De Niro of Tribeca Productions, is written by "Black Swan" screenwriter John McLaughlin.
"Brad Furman is a singular talent whose star is rapidly ascending," said Steve Bowen, president of James Patterson Entertainment. "His gritty style and gripping, compelling storytelling make him the ideal visionary to lift 'Private' off the pages and onto the screen."
"Private" follows former CIA agent Jack Morgan, who runs the world's most elite investigation firm. Morgan's staff of global investigators uses advanced forensic tools to break the cases that involve the secrets of the most influential people in the world.
I see James Patterson as more like the director of James Patterson, Inc. (one 400 page ghost-written book churned out per month, guaranteed or your money back!) than an actual author. So it wouldn't be such a big leap for him to just direct the series himself.
