There have been many mass killings by young people and some people will opine it's due to to the culture/society of violence to which children or young adults have been exposed. Violent movies, TV shows, music, video games, etc.
There are many scientific papers/books that support that belief and just as many that dispute that belief.
Mass killers watched these violent movies, shows, listened to violent music and/or played violent video games and that is where the murderous actions came about.
In my humble opinion,
On the other hand, I did not allow my son (when he was going through puberty) to watch movies, shows, music or video games where violence was paired with sex. Why? Because, he was a walking hormone interested and curious about SEX. (Very natural interest and curiosity.) I did not want to risk him seeing violence and sex and pair them together. ( I study pathology, mostly serial killers. And serial killers tend to have a sexual *agenda* or *focus* that they MUST perform in their murders.)
I'm not quite sure what I am trying to ask or say-I tend to look at things from a number of POV so I can confuse myself sometimes.
What do you think?
Do you think all the violence that children or teens see, hear, watch, or video games they play influence their murderous behavior?
Or, is there a seed of violence, hostility that calls them towards these violent things?
I hope I made some kind of sense.
Thank you for your time and patience.
