What are some things you think we need a word or term for? It could be an object, or a situation, or a feeling, etc. Heck, if we had to borrow from the French for "deja vu", then there's bound to be other words and terms waiting to be invented!
For starters, I think we should give a term for when you think someone is smiling/waving to you, but they are actually smiling/waving to someone behind you. This has happened to me several times so I think it deserves a term.
Another term we need is one that describes words that you only ever hear paired up with other words, words that you never hear in any other context. One example: "I'm waiting with bated breath." Has anyone ever seen the word "bated" when not immediately followed by the word "breath"? I know I've run into other examples of one-way-usage words, but right now I can't think of any! Anyway, we need a term for them that's better than "one-way-usage words".
Do you have any ideas for objects/feelings/situations that need a term of their own?
