So, I'm going to be moving from Pittsburgh to Kansas City next month. Unfortunately, I'm going to be stuck renting a small car and I'm basically going with myself, my cats, my computer and a few books. There wont be much room in the car and not much room in my son's apartment either.
This means I have to find good homes for a good many books, even some of my Stephen King books. I look at them all and feel so torn! Some of them are recent purchases, too!
I've basically settled on my Dark Towers, Dark Tower Illustrated Novels, Insomnia, and On Writing. That means I'll have to leave behind The Stand [It's sort of old and weather worn anyhow], Under The Dome [dang it why do they all have to be so thick! :'( ], Secret Windows, Everything's Eventual, Different Seasons, Duma Key! I'm glad my collection was still small.
I'll even have to leave behind my three Dan Browns. I can only take two or three small boxes of books. It's killing me! But I have to leave a little room for my Vonneguts and some collectable classics that were gifts to me.
I don't think there's anything that makes me more nauseous that looking at boxes of books I have to give away.
