...yes'm....the word "subjective" has been used...and it's certainly the case...what I am fond of amongst his works, isn't necessarily going to jibe with your tastes...kinda like me liking chocolate chip cookies and you don't...course that would make you a certifed ninnyhammer, but you get the gist of what I'm yappin' about...
I liked all the books that i read by Stephen king because they are very original and unpredictable there is a wide variety so if you don't get scared by the first book you read which there is little chance you wont (read It first was scared to take a shower for a week) then you can pick another up and will most likely get scared.
I tend to "rank" books as I read them. One tissue box/ two tissue boxes. A gasp/ a scream/ a jump that made all the critter hide!
Another factor- how did a book rank the first time you read it. Did that ranking change after a re read?
I never agree with lists like this.....and this one is no exception.
While The Stand is definitely in my top 10, it's not my number 1 choice.
Since I've not read On Writing or some of the other titles, I can't rank them at all.
Oh, Mz. Sundrop, when you have the chance, do read On Writing. You'll read of Mr. King's thoughts and his recommended does and don'ts and lots and lots of his wonderful humor. Believe me it is an experience.
