I've found that wine disagrees with me generally, at least red wines do (I so rarely drink whites that I haven't noticed one way or another), though I think more expensive ones are less disagreeable. Surprisingly scotch, even a cheaper one, and Irish whiskey (not mixed together, of course) seem to have less of a detrimental effect on me.
I believe I might have to do a personal investigation, first Scotland and Ireland (then mix Scotland and Ireland, wth), then Italy - oh, and let's not forget France!

After you mentioned that when you got back, Ms Mod, I asked said nephew to inquire to his employer, who's an importer/wholesaler/distributer, and a professional big time wino, um, affectionado/vinophile, from way back o' the grape, so maybe he's on to something.
Sure don't explain all them fun filled Hollywood blockbuster like special effects comes from the liberal imbibin' of homemade wine...hmm, perhaps it's something about vintagizing it in those plastic milk jugs.
