What a tragedy. Prayers for her family and may her heart live on in another.
Unbelievably sad. If there's anyone out there who is not familiar with the Heimlich manuever, please take a few minutes to learn--it really works (I can speak from personal experience, having witnessed it being performed) and it can save someone's life!

This was hard for me to read, I lost a cousin this way. He had just had a big bbq at his house, had a houseful of people, and after everyone left, must have decided to snack before going to bed. Was all alone, and no one to help him.

What a tragic story..she was a beautiful young lady, terrible for her brother and the rest of her family..when I think of first aid,i go back to how it was taught to me,all those years ago..just remember ABC's..Airway,make sure airway is clear and unobstructed,Breathing, check to see the person is breathing, and Circulation, check the pulse..the other conditions are treatable as they manifest, but do your abc's first..
How sad.

I'm so sorry to hear that, (((Cat.)))
My neighbour managed to save her little boy who choked on a piece of cocktail sausage at his 5th birthday party. He was completely blue and was in and out of consciousness before she managed to get it back out. (My partner--who is ex-ambulance--told me that looking at him, it didn't come much closer than he got that day.) Thank God for first aid training.
