I am so glad you have so many wonderful memories.
We had intended to go through the Basilica again as the day we went it was extremely crowded and our intent that day was to see the Sistine Chapel so we did a quick (as quickly as possible in that kind of a crowd--I resisted the urge to moo as it felt like being in a cattle drive) tour around the perimeter thinking we'd have plenty of time later. Unfortunately we did not make it back so that was one I missed.

I remember that line. He played Pope Gregory, right?

I don't remember which pontiff. I wrote that in order to be the only member ever to write "I don't remember which pontiff".

Had forgotten about this one. Came upon it walking down a street in Florence and just had to take a pic--you might have to zoom in to "get it". It's in Florence, Italy?! Who knew?!

Sigh. I'm glad you enjoyed the ancestral homeland, Ms. Mod. Your pictures take me back there.

Doesn't that look like something The Eagles were picturing while singing that tune? In Italy...awesome.
