How many of you are aware that when Stephen King's novel Carrie was accepted for publication he had to be notified by telegram because he'd had the telephone removed to cut household expenses? Or that the hardback edition sold only 13,000 copies only to be followed by 1,000,000 copies being sold when Carrie came out in paperback one year later?

He sure earned himself a good living. His writing changed his whole life style. Perhaps there is a lesson for all of us. Great example of if you set your mind to it,you can do anything.I admire the man. so down to earth.

Did not know that. I know it was oicked out if the trash and at one point they sold the TV to pay for antibiotics. Thanks for adding to the legend that is SK
