You're not gonna believe this....but I just unchecked the box that says something about retrieving remote file and reference locally, and it worked.
Now, how did you know how much to pare down for just the basics of the address?

I don't do anything but uncheck that box. If I open an image and copy the properties, it will be huge. I just sit my mouse on it till it inlarges just a little bit for your to see it. Then right click and copy the properties ending with a .jpg file.

I'm so embarrassed about this, (and should have realised yesterday) I've written out and posted the uploading instructions for a couple of people recently and... they include the removal of that wee tick. I'm so sorry Sunny, I think my brain may be leaking out through the ends of my hair follicles.
