Is IT somehow connected to the Dark Tower Series?

Reason I ask this is because I remembered that IT talked about this Turtle and Wizard and Glass mentions The Turtle. I just don't get it. Is it a big connection or a small connection? And would that spider-like creature in IT be connected too? Please tell me. I would love to know and of course get back to finish reading the Dark Tower series. Thanks.

Funny this should be here. I'm doing a looong overdue re read of It. Really enjoying by the way. Anyhow, yes the turtle is mentioned in It and The Dark Tower. There are lots of links between all S.K. books. The coincidental part is that I've just read where the turtle is mentioned in IT. I never noticed that particular link until reading very recently, so I'm pleased to see this.
