Is The Wheel of Time worth reading all 20 volumes, or whatever?

If you like Fantasy, I would recommend Terry Pratchett and Terry Brooks. And as for Sci-fi I would recommend Ray Bradbury's books, Richard Matheson's Steel and Other Stories, Micheal Crichton's books, Arthur C. Clarke's 2001: An Space Oddesey. For Mystery, I would recommend Christopher's Pikes older novels, Alfred Hitchcock's books, James Patternson's books, and any Agatha Christie Novels along with Sue Grafton's books. For Action try Richard Bachman's The Running Man, Robert Ludlum's Jason Bourne series and James Patternson's Alex Cross series.

Richard Bachman IS a pen name for Stephen King,...

I read the Shanara Series when I was a kid, thought it was just a child's series... maybe its evolved.

Thanks for the ideas, I appreciate it.

I liked the series. There are times when it is a little meandering and repetitive ... however, most epic series fall into that, at some point. The series wasn't finished by Robert Jordan ... so, there's that aspect. It's your call, but I found the series interesting.

    I think I'm having a seizure.

John Steinbecks The Grapes of Wrath. Still an important piece of work, even today.

I read the Sword of Shanara when I was 12 years old.
