Anybody ever go to these? My daughter is all into them, so I've gone a couple times to pick her up. There are kids running around in all sorts of crazy costumes, everything from star wars to cartoons I've never heard of. It's kind of weird, but I don't really have room to talk. I did more than three hundred RHPS shows dressed up as Frank N Furter.
They have a dealer's room where people can sell merchandise directly related to anime. Food, shirts, toys, you name it. And they also have Artists Alley, where artists book tables and sell artwork and merchandise related to anime, but which doesn't directly rip off any copywrited material.
I'm taking the plunge and booking a table at Mechacon, an anime convention in New Orleans. I'm a little (lot) nervous because it's such a huge crowd, and I'm just not sure I really have anything to offer that anybody would want to buy. But I'm going for it. I only hope I'm not done in by the con funk.
