Yesterday my family had a HUGE fight and I did some things I regret (smashed a glass door) and left for awhile and now have sun poisoning. I didn't get a chance to read my 2nd lesson from the purpose driven life so now I gotta start all over. Crap.

Dave, I've decided to merge this new thread with your existing one. I'm very sorry to hear about the incident with your family... hope you can embrace the starting over.

People can decide to read or ignore threads (or individual posts even) if they don't appeal for whatever reason. There is no need for the personal attacks we've been seeing so often in recent days.
Sometimes it is best to do a little bit of this when we feel that 'nasty' bubbling up. (This is a general comment in response to the overall tone coming through in many posts over the last couple of days)

You'll probably have to start over many, many times. And that's okay. The point is that you want to start over.

As well as using this self help book, it still might be a good idea to try to talk to a counsellor or other professional - there are help lines you can call. You have some major family issues I think that a self help book is not going to resolve, sweetie. I do applaud your efforts to try to deal with this on your own, but I think that some human contact might be wise. Something is really making you angry, and I'm getting a little concerned. I say this with love.
