An Old Fan, But a New Member!

Hi everyone! I am so glad to have found this group. Around Christmas of 1975 my Mom, an avid reader and major horror fan received 'Salems Lot as a gift, and for the next 2-3 days every minute she was awake she was buried in that book. I was 8 years old at the time & had already inherited her love of reading, and when she finished that last page and closed the book I asked her what it was about- of course, the answer was "Vampires". I asked her if I could read it & she said yes. That was where it all started for me. While the other kids were playing, or watching tv I read, at night when we went to bed I would hide under my sheet with a flashlight-powerless to put it down. I had found "my" author... Now, 37 years later, that is still the way it is. When I don't have anything new of his to read, I will re-read my favorites again & again. My husband and I breed rottweilers, we currently have 7 adults, 3 females & 4 males-and 2 litters on the way. I have my degree in Computer Science, but have recently turned the dogs into my full-time job. I love rock music, everything from Pink Floyd to Seether, and am an "80's Hair Band" junkie. Probably more information than you would possibly want to know, but that's who I am.
