The sad truth is that, as a whole, our country doesn't trust in God any longer. I was going to say a lot more, but will leave it at that.

I say keep the “E pluribus unum,” from the obverse side of the Great Seal of the United States, and replace “In God We Trust” with the reverse side of the Great Seal… “Annuit cœptis,” which already is on the $1 bill (translation: "He [God] has favored our undertakings"). An affirmation of God, and of the greatness of the United States. What could go wrong? Better yet, since English is the primary language, just use the English translation on the money and just put in “God Has Favored Our Undertakings.”

I guess we need to ask if god is really that interested in politics and government. Not that I follow such things, I am just aware of them, but I believe the statement in the new testament is "Unto Caesar what is Caesar's", denoting a desire for a separation of faith and things godly from those of human construct.

Perhaps I am a dreamer though...
