After reading nothing but King for the last two years, I stepped out of my box ( ) and read Heart Shaped Box (which technically is still 'King', I guess). Anyway, I can tell you all that the apple does not fall far from the tree. Joe's novel is a compelling story that's a thrill ride from beginning to end. He has his father's ability to connect you with the characters and really make you feel their pain and hurt, but at the same time he possesses his own writing style as an individual. Once I finish Salem's Lot, I'll be looking into NOS4A2. Thanks Joe for the great read!
