Let us say that the world has moved on and that there will no longer be food as we know...we will all have to live on some energy drink. If you could have one last meal of actual food, what would it be?
For me, it would be a Newfoundland Jigg's dinner followed by apple pie drenched with custard.
Staro, I can't answer that. It's too depressing to contemplate. I just love food so much and the variety and ethnic choices we have these days just boggles my mind. I think I would just have to have a big plate of deep fried cod, deep fried chicken wings, chips, dressing and gravy with a coke if I really had to choose something. I'm sure I'd be sorry I didn't get something else though.
All you can eat Lake Superior white fish...some mustard greens...a big plate of them like my friend Joe's mother made in Florida...a big honkin baked potato w/some fixin's...and a salad from my garden's veggies...heavy on the cukes and tomatoes.
Turkey with homemade dumplings, corn on the cob, green beans with red potatoes, stuffing, cranberry sauce and big fat piece of Texas Sheet Cake for dessert with a glass of milk. I would welcome death at that point.
A massive blue Rib Eye Steak, dauphinois potatoes, loads of butter fried garlic mushrooms, a jug of Bernaise sauce on the side. Then jam roly poly pudding and custard. Or syrup sponge and custard. Or both.
Hopefully by this time I'd be able to buy a farm (or buy the farm if I couldn't make a go of it) backed up to a big river full of fish, also a couple of orchards on the land, and supply all my own food...
