hang on now.....the Bee Gees, while not everyone's favorite, and overplayed in some areas, weren't exactly cheesy. They were considered the absolute peak of pop music, non-classic rock music culture in 1977 - go check Billboard Hot 100 archives if you don't believe me. They made millions on their songs, whether they recorded them or not, and were the ones who made disco cool, specifically because they weren't cheesy. Up until then it had been a wasteland of crap like "Disco Duck" by Rick Dees and stuff generated by Leo Sayer and KC & the Sunshine Band, not to mention Hossie's fave, the Starland Vocal Band.
