Re: AUDIO BOOKS - BEST OF!!!
As I've mentioned before, I usually have one audiobook going at all times. I walk my dog every evening and love listening to audiobooks on my nightly walk. So, I picked up the audiobook of Danse Macabre last week and have been listening to it the past couple of days. I mean no disrespect to the narrator, William Dufris, he does a fine job BUT SK should be the narrator of this book. The book is written in such an informal style, it's like SK is sitting across from you giving you his take on recent horror films and pop culture only you don't hear him, you hear someone else. It just doesn't sound right. I'm enjoying it anyway (again) but someone tell Steve when he has some spare time , he needs to get in a recording studio and make this right.
I use them at work, so listen to Audio Books all the time. Im currently listening to DT 4...decided to take a new route to the tower via Audio. It's amazing what a different experience it is. Really enjoying Frank Mueler (sp?) as a reader he even does the womens voices well! Not looking forward to a reader change in Book Five.
Justin Long is phenomenal in "Everything's Eventual". Probably my favorite reading of them all. I like his acting a lot too but I can't see him on TV without thinking "Dinky Earnshaw". One of my other favorites is Craig Wasson's reading of "Blockade Billy." He is perfect for the book and his delivery is right on. I laugh out loud a lot listening to that one. I may be biased because it's one of my favorite stories but John Slattery does a fantastic job on "Duma Key" also.
I agree with the Frank Muller comments. I especially loved his reading of "The Night Flier". Such a delightfully evil voice.
