on facebook, that James Herbert has passed away. What sad news. I read him as much as King when I was younger... I always thought he was like King, but with sexy bits. Sad news.

To be honest, I had never heard of him before your post. I see Amazon has his books available for Kindle and I am intrigued. Which one would you recommend I read first, mustangclaire?

That's sad news. I've read The Fog and The Rats, the latter has been on my to be re-read list for some time.
His style of storytelling was quite straightforward, also Stephen King commented something about it on his Danse Macabre.

Go for it, The Rats, The fog, The Magic Cottage....he wrote alot.

I've read a lot of his works (mainly his earlier ones) and really enjoyed them. I'm sad that he's gone now.
