My grocery has been around for eons. Watching it being built. Lots of regular customers. Up went the super WalMart across the hwy and many left due to lower prices. But there are still what I call the "old Crew". These cashiers keep a small container under the ckout. Many of the regular customers will offer up their change for these containers. The idea was..... if someone in need had to put back an item or were a tad short, the container came out and was used. Lots of pay it forward at the local grocery.
Another thing I've noticed lately. Many older folks supplement their SS by being baggers. Now In Fl it rains a lot in the summer. The policy at this grocery is the bagger will offer to help you out to the car. Older folks- rain, not a good mix. Well, I've been seeing stockers, the "young folks" rush up and offer to take the basket out instead. Since I know the local manager, I'd ask if this was a store idea. Nope- one day a "teen" just did it, and it seem others are following in his footsteps. Nice!
Cheers to everyone out there (and in here) who goes that extra mile to help others.
Very cool, Fush. Very cool. Mucho respect.
