first thing that comes to mind....hmmm.......I've been reading a book about The Age of Fable, The Legends of Charlemagne, and The Age of Chivalry..and in The Age of Chivalry, it speaks alot about kings, queens, knights and knighthood and there's quite a bit on King Arthur and the Round Table, Sir Launcelot, Sir Galahad and the quest for the Sangreal...reading about the knights and the quest remind me so much of Roland and Gilead and the Dark Tower books........in The Legends of Charlemagne, it speaks about the twelve most illustrious knights of Charlemagne that were called peers, or paladins, and one of them was named Orlando, or Roland(the former the Italian, the latter the French form of the name)...Orlando(Roland) is such a fierce and brave fighter, along with his sword Durindana...reminds me so much of Roland and his guns.....there so much to this stories that I find it all very interesting...I wonder if these stories had some influence of the writing of the Dark Tower books?....well, you asked what was on my mind, GNTLGNT...![]()
