Default Tie in with Dead Zone and Dark Tower?

Okay, this is a kind of a stretch, but since I've been told that there are no coincidences in the world of SK I've got to bring two points up from Christine. I just started reading the book for the first time but I've been reading SK since the eighties and the first thing I came across is that Dennis has a little sister who is dating a guy named Milton Dodd, which is the same last name of the serial child killer in the Dead Zone. Christine takes place in Pennsylvania and Dead Zone was in Maine, so there is some serious distance between the two locations, and Dodd isn't an uncommon last name by any means, so normally I would blow it off as a coincidence, but I've been told that is a no no is SK's writing. The other one is the name of the original owner of Christine being a guy named Roland. That one threw me for a loop! The last name is different (Lemay), but Roland is a pretty uncommon name (at least in my experience) so this one really has my mind spinning. I doubt there will be any other ties between the car and the Gunslinger, but I am definitely looking for it from here on out as I read the book (currently I'm only on page 75)
So what do you guys make of these two findings?

Hmmm....interesting! It's very possible there is a connection.

A journalist named David Bright appears in both The Dead Zone and The Tommyknockers, and The Tommyknockers also -- arguably -- includes a cameo appearance by Jack Sawyer from The Talisman. The Talisman definitely connects to The Dark Tower, so you can make the argument that The Dead Zone does, too: indirectly, granted, but that's good enough for me.

By the way, I say "arguably" because apparently Peter Straub is on the record as saying that the kid who Gardener meets in The Tommyknockers is NOT Jack Sawyer. I don't buy it; I don't see who else he could be, and he's definitely not just some random kid.
