    Default Cloud Atlas

Going to see Cloud Atlas Wednesday evening. The book is in my top ten non SK book list, been waiting for the film to come out for a while now.My best mate went to see it on Sunday and said they had done a brilliant job of it,and he is quite the connesuier when it comes to films. Also the Daily Mail said it was rubbish, which is always a good indication of a great movie

    Watch this space

    P.S. read the book

I'll be very interested in what you think. I do like movies that bring different times and people together. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't. So I'll be looking for your review.

I knew going in that the story contained what some called...six?...novellas. And like any story, the reviews are up and down the board. Don't know what the "average" is. If he had opened the story w/what is a middle chapter or story, I'd have put it down. Some dialect is fine, but this was excessive, difficult to read. While individually some of the stories are okay...the story is simply too much of a chore to enjoy...30+ characters introduced in each of the six novellas...and then that story ends...and the reader is asked to pick up w/30+ new introductions. I came away w/the sense that he pulled open the file drawer, pulled out a bundle of different stories, reworked them by including in each something that would tie them all up w/a bow. I don't mind working for the story, but reading this one is the equivalent of pounding rocks.
