Hello, First I would like to introduce myself as a long time lurker of these message boards and a
constant reader of Mr Kings. As someone who would never go on a message board to complain
I do feel a bit apprehensive that this is my first post and possibly a negative first impression. That
being said I will get to my point of posting. As a skateboarder for the better part of 25 years I fancy
myself somewhat of and expert on the lingo and verbiage that surrounds the activity. When I see Mr King
making reference to it I get a small amount of satisfaction. I first noticed a passage in Needful Things ( a book I am very fond of) with a kid practicing nosys in the parking lot. This sentence was glossed over and my though was maybe he's referring to some 1960's toes to the nose sidewalk surfing type move. Ok I let that one slide But after finishing
Under the Dome ( another book I loved ) there were just to many skateboard references that made no sense. So instead of just complaining and coming across as a skating nit picker I ve decided to voice my opinion and offer up a
solution. I'm willing to help with the appropriate skateboard lingo free of charge to Mr King whenever he deems it nessessary to add a skating character to his novel. That way my brain won't have to come to a grinding halt when
I here a trick referred to as a nosy to rail.
Although Iam serious about the skate stuff being grossly inaccurate please don't read this first post as to
much of high horse stance I am still a huge fan.
